LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A Las Cruces couple is facing multiple charges after a stabbing that left a man dead following a dispute with a neighbor.
Authorities say 37-year-old Aaron Noriega Salas and 33-year-old Erica Ortiz were arrested in connection with the death of Guillermo Robledo.
According to the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing on the outskirts of Las Cruces, where they found Robledo lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds.
Robledo was transported by helicopter to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
Investigators say the incident stemmed from an altercation between neighbors and that three children were present during the incident, leading to additional child abuse charges against the suspects.

Both Salas and Ortiz are now facing charges including murder and child abuse, as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
Officials have not released additional details about what led up to the confrontation.
