BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. — Bernalillo County is inviting residents, business owners, and community members to learn more about an upcoming road improvement project along Fourth Street.
County officials will host a public information meeting to discuss the Fourth Street Road Diet Reconstruction Project, which will focus on the stretch between Ortega Road and Alameda Boulevard.
Planned improvements include reducing the roadway to one travel lane in each direction, adding a continuous center turn lane, and constructing new bike lanes and sidewalks. Crews also plan to install curb and gutter infrastructure, along with a new storm drainage system designed to address flooding concerns in the area.
During the meeting, county staff and project representatives will provide an overview of the project, discuss the construction timeline, and answer questions from attendees.
The public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, at the Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center. An open house will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation and a question-and-answer session.
Officials say the project is aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and infrastructure along the corridor.
