Albuquerque, NM(KKOB) – The City of Albuquerque is rolling out its “Operation Cool Down” plan as temperatures are expected to climb into the triple digits this week. City officials say 22 locations across Albuquerque will be available for residents seeking relief from the heat. These include community centers, senior centers, libraries, pools, splash pads, and designated shelters. Air-conditioned public buildings are open during regular hours, offering indoor spaces as temperatures rise.
Outdoor options like pools and splash pads are also part of the city’s response to the heat. The city says the plan is part of its ongoing efforts to provide access to cooling resources during periods of extreme temperatures. Residents are encouraged to check city resources for a full list of locations and hours as the heat continues to build throughout the week and you can see those locations by clicking on the link https://www.cabq.gov/summer/summer-cool-down
