ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in northeast Albuquerque Monday morning.
According to APD, officers were called to the area of Osuna Road and Jefferson Street around 6:55 a.m.
Investigators say a pickup truck was traveling westbound in the left lane of Osuna when a motorcycle appears to have merged from the middle lane, striking the rear passenger side of the truck.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
APD’s Fatal Crash Unit is handling the investigation and is expected to remain on scene for several hours.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area of Osuna and Jefferson while crews continue their work.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
