Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Free groceries will be available for low income older individuals and veterans in Bernalillo County this month. The County has teamed up with Silver Horizons to offer the grocery pickup events. The program is open to residents 50 and older with a valid I D indicating name, age and address. Veterans must also show proof of veteran status. Household incomes for a single household must be below $1304 dollars a month and for a household of five, below $3140 a month. The first grocery pickup happens today from 12:30 to 1:30pm at the Bernalillo County Extension Building, 1510 Menaul NW. Another free grocery pickup will be held this Friday at the South Valley Senior Center. You can call Silver Horizons for more information on additional grocery events.
