Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – Residents and visitors to New Mexico can enjoy free day-use to every New Mexico State Park on Sunday June 14th.
To celebrate National New Mexico Day, all 35 places around the state will be available to explore, experience, and to enjoy your Land of Enchantment. New Mexico Day activities at New Mexico State Parks will vary by location, but visitors can expect kid-friendly nature walks, scenic lookouts and stunning spots for that perfect photo.
“Approximately 70% of New Mexicans live within 40 miles of a state park,” said State Parks Division Director, Toby Velasquez. “Your New Mexico State Parks system provides highly affordable, accessible and diverse staycation options. Your parks support families, friends and neighbors to easily disconnect, save on travel costs, create memories and support rural and urban economies without leaving the state.” From sunrise on, New Mexicans are invited to hit the trails, paddle the lakes, picnic with family, explore hidden corners of their home state, and share the moments that make New Mexico theirs using #NationalNMDay2026.
