Farmington, NM (KKOB) – An Albuquerque judge has reversed a decision by the New Mexico Racing Commission, to allow the transfer of license from SunRay Park and Casino in Farmington from San Juan County to Clovis. Judge Daniel E. Ramczyk made the ruling on Monday, which had granted Western Gaming permission to transfer its license from SunRay Park and Casino to Clovis earlier this year.

The county wants SunRay to expand racing to 30 days which would bring more horse owners to the track for a longer racing season.
In a statement, New Mexico Racing Commission Executive Director Izzy Trejo said, “Although the NMRC is obviously disappointed with today’s decision by the judge, we will wait until we receive the signed order before determining what the next plan of action might be to sustain our industry.”
