ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material.
According to Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman, Joshua Willey was arrested in July 2025 after he arrived at what he believed was a meeting with a 12-year-old girl for sex. Authorities say the “girl” was actually an undercover deputy with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
During the investigation, deputies searched Willey’s phone and discovered images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. Investigators also determined Willey had been distributing the material.
In April, Willey pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of a visual medium depicting the sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of a visual medium depicting the sexual exploitation of children.
On Wednesday, a judge sentenced Willey to nine years in the New Mexico Corrections Department.
The case was investigated by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office.
