ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – A Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputy is facing criminal charges following a grand jury indictment.
According to our news partners at KOAT, Deputy Bryan Lassley has been indicted on charges of child abuse and felony aggravated battery.
Authorities say the charges stem from an incident in December tied to a call at the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention and Youth Services Center. Investigators allege the case involves the use of excessive force against a minor.
The indictment follows a broader investigation into the incident, which had been under review for several months.
KOAT reports there is currently no scheduled date for Lassley’s court appearance.
The case will now move forward through the court process.
