Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –City officials in Carlsbad say a canal breach on the north side of town is flooding the surrounding area. The Carlsbad Irrigation District canal on the north side of Carlsbad was breached today causing flooding and officials are asking residents to avoid all nearby streets and neighborhoods and not to drive or walk through the flooded areas until further notice. Road closures may come in the area as emergency crews respond to the issue. The City of Carlsbad will provide updates as they become available
