SANTA FE, N.M. — Emergency crews responded Friday morning after a plane went down near the Santa Fe Regional Airport.
According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, the aircraft came down along Los Pinos Road, just outside the airport area. Officials say there were no injuries reported.
Investigators say the plane’s emergency parachute deployed before impact, which helped prevent injuries. The aircraft narrowly missed a nearby building, coming down just inches away.
Authorities say the incident remains under investigation. New Mexico State Police will be handling the investigation to determine what led to the plane going down.
More information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
