Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The 2nd Congressional District race will have one less candidate running on the Republican side of the ticket. Jose Orozco announced last week he was quitting the race and would be supporting his fellow Republican candidate, Greg Cunningham. Orozco’s name will still appear on the ballot since he did not submit the withdrawal paperwork to the Secretary of State’s Office before the deadline las week. Orozco said last week he was ending his campaign for the CD2 seat in an effort to consolidate support behind Cunningham. In a news release Orozco said, “division only benefits our opponents.” The Republican candidate will face democratic incumbent Representative Gabe Vasquez who is seeking his third term in congress.
