Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – New Mexico State Police is investigating a traffic fatality that happened early Tuesday morning on I-40 westbound in the area of Eubank. Westbound lanes were shutdown for several hours due to the incident. According to NMSP, at approximately 6:38 am, officers responded to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on the interstate.
Preliminary information is that a pedestrian walked into the westbound lanes of traffic and was struck by a vehicle in the #1 lane.
The pedestrian died on the scene. The name of the victim has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
