Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A prescribed burn is planned in the Cibola National Forest Magdalena Ranger district for tomorrow, barring any changes to weather conditions. Overgrown vegetation in the vicinity of Bolander Canyon will be reduced as part of a multi-day operation called the Durfee Bolander Prescribed Fire. Some areas in the district may be closed to the public for several days and residents may experience smoke during the prescribed burn. Smoke may be visible from Magdalena, Alamo, and Datil. County emergency management officials will be notified when burning begins.
