ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Albuquerque police continue to investigate a shooting that critically injured a teenage girl near Old Town over the weekend.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, near Mountain Road and 20th Street Northwest. APD’s ShotSpotter system also detected gunfire in the area near a parking garage at a nearby business complex.
Police later located the victim, now identified as a 15‑year‑old girl, who had been shot during the incident. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Detectives were called to the scene and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional details about suspects or arrests have been released at this time.
