Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- 19-year old Daniel Medrano Garcia, one of the three people arrested in the shooting death of 16-year old Jesus Quintana Cota in the Pajarito Mesa pled No Contest on several charges including first-degree murder and armed robbery.
The case dates back to May of 2024, when according to police, Mariana Gomez lured Quintana Cota out on a date. she and Medrano Garcia, and Dominik Marques, kidnapped Quintana Cota and took him to the Pajarito Mesa, where he was shot and killed. The teen’s body was later discovered by someone passing through the area.
Medrano Garcia faces more than two decades in prison for his part in the crime, according to the Bernalillo County district attorney.
Marques was sentenced to 22 years in prison while and Gomez was sentenced to 18 years for the murder. .
