ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United and the University of New Mexico Athletics are concluding their joint food drive initiative, “Fans Against Hunger,” with a final collection event this Saturday. The campaign, which began earlier this season, has supported food banks across New Mexico through supply drives held at select tailgates.
This weekend’s drive will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM ahead of New Mexico United’s evening match. Fans who donate five or more non-perishable food items will receive tickets to either United’s September 10 home game against Detroit City FC or UNM Football’s home opener.
Donations from this event will benefit The Community Pantry in Gallup, joining other food banks that have received support through the campaign, including Roadrunner Food Bank, The Food Depot, Echo Food Bank, and Hope Garden. Delivery of collected items is being handled by 1-800-GOT-JUNK.
