Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Today Bueno Foods is turning 75 years old. Bueno Foods President Gene Baca said, “Our family’s been in New Mexico since 1600 and for us, food is more than just nutrients. We feel like we have kind of a central role in New Mexican culture, that keeping our culture alive, our food unique from other types of Mexican food.” Baca says it all started with the Ace Food Store in the South Valley and his grandma’s recipes. The family established Bueno Foods in 1951 and eventually built a factory in Barelas in 1984. Now, that same factory produces close to half-a-million tortillas every day.
