Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Today(Monday) an Albuquerque man is found guilty of second-degree murder for a shooting that happened outside a local gas station in 2021.
Frank Porras was also found guilty of Aggravated Burglary in the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Matthew Werth.
The crime happened outside an East Central gas station when Porras was allegedly out looking for drugs.
Following the shooting, Porras took off to California, where he was later arrested in connection with a separate attempted murder case. Porras was taken into custody in Long Beach and is accused of shooting a gas station clerk in the face. The clerk survived.
After Porras was arrested in the California shooting, forensic testing matched to a shell casing recovered at the scene of Werth’s killing which led to the Albuquerque charges and his extradition back to New Mexico.
