ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A hiker has died after falling from Sandia Crest while hiking with family, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the man, believed to be in his 50s, was found near the Sandia Crest House Gift Shop along Sandia Crest Road. Recovery crews worked to extract the body from the rugged terrain Friday morning.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall is ongoing.
