Selena Martinez Faces Battery Charges After Incident at Dirty Bourbon
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A member of the New Mexico National Guard was arrested Thursday night after allegedly causing a disturbance at a northeast Albuquerque bar.
Selena Martinez, 21, of Santo Domingo Pueblo, was taken into custody at Dirty Bourbon off Eubank after staff reported she became aggressive when cut off for being too intoxicated. According to police, Martinez attacked two employees and later assaulted an officer during her arrest.
Court records show Martinez initially complied with bouncers but became combative after attempting to retrieve a beer from a trash can. She reportedly struck a bouncer, kicked employees while handcuffed, and resisted officers as they tried to place her in a patrol vehicle. At one point, she kicked an officer in the chest.
Martinez identified herself as a National Guard soldier based in Santa Fe and insisted on speaking with her sergeant, claiming she knew her rights as a service member. She is facing three battery charges and one count of resisting arrest. No attorney has been listed for her in court record.
