Sunsets Will Gradually Get Earlier Through Fall
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — August 10 marked the final day of the year when the sun set at 8 p.m. or later in Albuquerque. According to Time and Date, the city won’t see another 8 p.m. sunset until May 11, 2026.
Since the summer solstice on June 21, sunset times have been gradually shifting earlier. Starting August 11, the sun will set at 7:59 p.m., and by the end of the month, it will dip below the horizon at 7:34 p.m.
Here’s a look at how sunset times will change through the rest of August:
| Date | Sunset Time |
|---|---|
| August 11 | 7:59 p.m. |
| August 15 | 7:54 p.m. |
| August 20 | 7:48 p.m. |
| August 25 | 7:42 p.m. |
| August 31 | 7:34 p.m. |
By September 1, sunset will be at 7:32 p.m., and by the end of that month, it will fall to 6:51 p.m.
While the days are still warm, the earlier sunsets are a sign that fall is approaching. Residents can expect shorter evenings and cooler temperatures in the weeks ahead.
