SANTA FE, N.M. — A civil lawsuit filed by actor Alec Baldwin against special prosecutor Kari Morrissey has been dismissed.
The lawsuit followed the dismissal of Baldwin’s manslaughter charge in the Rust shooting trial. That charge was dropped with prejudice just three days into the trial, meaning it cannot be refiled.
Court records show the civil case was dismissed on Tuesday, July 29, due to inactivity. No significant legal action had been taken in over 180 days.
Morrissey led the prosecution prior to the criminal case’s dismissal. Baldwin had filed the civil suit after the trial ended, but it did not move forward.
