ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Local nonprofits across New Mexico have a new opportunity to save on energy costs and strengthen their community impact. PNM’s “Reduce Your Use” Grants are now open for applications, offering up to $5,000 per organization to fund energy-saving upgrades.
With $300,000 available in this year’s grant cycle, eligible nonprofits can apply for projects that reduce energy use and lower operating expenses—allowing them to reinvest those savings directly into their mission-driven work.
Eligible Projects Include:
- Energy-efficient lighting
- Insulation upgrades
- Heating and cooling system improvements
- Energy-saving appliances
- Solar panel installations
“With these grants, nonprofits can focus more on serving their communities and less on utility bills,” said a PNM spokesperson.

Since launching in 2008, the PNM | TNMP Foundation has awarded more than $4 million through the Reduce Your Use program. This year, the grants are part of a broader $1.3 million commitment to support nonprofits across New Mexico and Texas in areas like education, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
The Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization governed by TXNM employees. No customer funds are used in the grant program.
