A federal jury in Manhattan delivered a split verdict today in the high-profile trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The jury found Combs guilty on two counts of violating the federal Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for the purposes of prostitution.
The charges stemmed from a broader investigation into allegations of coercion, abuse, and trafficking involving multiple women over the span of several years. Prosecutors accused Combs of using his private jets, properties, and influence to facilitate illegal activity.
However, the jury acquitted Combs of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking—charges that carried heavier penalties and broader legal implications.
Combs, 55, now faces up to 10 years in prison for each of the two convictions. A sentencing date has not yet been set. Defense attorneys say they intend to appeal, while federal prosecutors say they will push for a lengthy sentence.
