A teacher at Hope Christian School in Albuquerque is facing serious charges after being accused of sexually abusing a student.
Albuquerque Police say 66-year-old Kelly McEachren has been charged following allegations that he inappropriately touched an 11-year-old student multiple times. The student reported the abuse to her parents in April, prompting school officials to immediately notify police and place McEachren on administrative leave.
Detectives with APD’s Crimes Against Children Unit say the abuse occurred over several weeks, both over and under the child’s clothing, often while the student was seated next to McEachren’s desk.
McEachren is now facing charges of Criminal Sexual Contact and Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Minor Under 13.
