ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The FBI’s Albuquerque office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a large fentanyl trafficking case.
Investigators say Raymond Lawrence Gonzales is facing federal drug charges following a traffic stop in Albuquerque on April 17, 2024. Authorities report the vehicle Gonzales was driving had traveled from Arizona and contained approximately 72 kilograms of fentanyl pills.
A federal arrest warrant was issued on June 25, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. Gonzales is charged with possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl.
According to the FBI, Gonzales may have ties to Mazatlan and Juarez, Mexico.
Officials are urging anyone with information about Gonzales’ whereabouts to contact the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office at 505-889-1300, call 1-800-CALL-FBI, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
The investigation is ongoing.
