SANTA TERESA, N.M. — Three people were hospitalized after a small plane crashed Friday morning at the Doña Ana County International Jetport in southern New Mexico.
Emergency officials say the crash happened just before 11 a.m. on airport property. According to Sunland Park Fire Chief Daniel Medrano, three people were on board the aircraft, including the pilot.
All three were transported to University Medical Center in El Paso for treatment. One person is listed in critical condition, while the other two are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Officials say at least two of the victims were airlifted from the scene due to the severity of their injuries.
The cause of the crash has not yet been released, and authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
The Doña Ana County International Jetport is located in Santa Teresa, near the New Mexico–Texas border.
