Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –New television ads designed to promote safer driving habits are being rolled out by the City of Albuquerque. First quarter data shows fatal crashes have fallen 54% in early 2026 with total deaths reduced by more than half compared to the same period last year. Overall crashes have also dipped 3%. The new ads use real-world driving scenarios to remind motorists of basic rules like yielding at crosswalks and staying alert for cyclists. APD is using crash data to focus patrols in high risk areas. Redesigned intersections and additional speed cameras are helping to slow traffic in some dangerous corridors
