Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- A double murder in Roswell and a fatal crash on Tuesday in Albuquerque have a very tragic connection. One person died in a crash in the area of the Frontage Roads of I-40 and I-25 in Albuquerque when a semi-trailer ran a red light and crashed into an Audi killing the passenger identified as 21-year old Haylee Gonzales, a UNM student from Roswell. Her cousin, the driver, is in critical condition at UNMH. Earlier on Tuesday around 3 a.m. Gonzales’ mother, Stacia Pearce, was one of the victims in a double homicide in Roswell. The other victim in the homicide was identified as Tony Joseph Ontiveros. Haylee Gonzales and her cousin were on their way to Roswell after learning that her mother was killed, when she died in the traffic crash.
The semitrailer driver was not injured and police say he was not impaired. Roswell authorities are still searching for the man responsible for the murder of Pearce and Ontiveros.
