Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A red coppery moon will be visible in New Mexico on Thursday night, weather permitting. The best time to view the partial lunar eclipse will be right after 10pm. A lunar eclipse happens when the earth moves directly in between the sun and the moon. In this eclipse about 96% of the full face of the moon will fall into earth’s shadow casting the red copper glow. No special eyewear is needed to view this eclipse.
