SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. — The Sandoval County Fire Department has placed the Horseshoe Springs area under SET evacuation status as firefighters respond to a wildfire burning in the area.
Under the Ready, Set, Go! evacuation system, a SET status means residents should be prepared to leave on short notice if conditions worsen or an evacuation order is issued.
County officials are urging residents in the affected area to gather important documents, medications, pets, and other essential supplies. Residents are also encouraged to secure their homes and prepare for the possibility of evacuation.
At this time, no mandatory evacuations have been announced, but fire officials continue to monitor conditions and assess the fire’s progression.
Authorities say the situation remains active and could change quickly as firefighters work to contain the blaze.
Additional information is expected as the incident develops.
