Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Frijoles Fire has grown to over 7700 acres and is located in steep terrain five miles west of Sierra Mosca and two miles southeast of Cundiyo. The fire is in the Espanola Ranger District within the boundaries of the Pecos Wilderness Area. Evacuations remain in place for individuals on Camino de Canon in Cundiyo. The Evacuation Center is located at Pojoaque Valley Middle School Gym 1797 State Road 502. The rest of Cundiyo and Cerro Piñon have been placed on “Set Status”. Rio Arriba County issued a “Ready Status” update for the community of Cordova. The fire is still 0% contained.
