SANTA FE, N.M. — The Santa Fe Police Department’s Traffic Section is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one driver seriously injured Monday evening.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 6:49 p.m. on Aug. 10 to the area of St. Francis Drive and Interstate 25 after receiving reports of a vehicle crash with the driver trapped inside.
When officers arrived, they found a single vehicle involved in the crash. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was trapped inside and unable to get out. Officers began providing first aid until emergency crews arrived.
Santa Fe firefighters and paramedics were able to extricate the driver from the vehicle before transporting the individual to a local hospital.
Police said the driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Santa Fe Police Department’s Traffic Section and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate the crash. Authorities said the scene remained active for several hours and was cleared at approximately 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.
The cause of the crash has not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
