Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Two separate security incidents were reported Monday morning at two different Rio Rancho Public Schools. RR police reported that a man with a gun threatened someone at Shining Stars Preschool before leaving the area. Officers located the man in his vehicle, interviewed the individuals and are continuing to investigate that incident. Minutes after this incident another one happened at Rio Rancho High School that resulted in a lockdown. RR Police responded to a report that a male threatened an employee while armed before leaving the campus. Officers determined that the male has been verbally aggressive toward staff but no weapon was observed. Parents were alerted to both situations through emails. RR Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Dodd commended the high school administration’s response to the shelter-in-place.
