Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The boat ramp at Santa Rosa Lake State Park is scheduled to be closed on July 29th and remain so until conditions return to a safe level. The news from NM State Parks is due to a water release by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The release of water from Santa Rosa Lake began Monday and is expected to lower the lake’s elevation by almost 36 feet and reduce reservoir storage from 40% capacity down to 3%. Camping, hiking, fishing in accessible areas, and other recreational activities will remain available during the water release.
