Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – The Albuquerque Public Schools Board is reviewing an application for a new Charter high school in the district. If approved, the school will be named Andalusia Natural Sciences Academy. The school’s curriculum would focus on education of New Mexico, Spanish and Middle Eastern history, Architecture and artificial intelligence, as well as having a rigorous STEM education program. The Albuquerque Journal reports that students would use AI to construct architectural models of buildings and use “real world” problem solving in class.
The school, if approved by the APS board, would open for ninth and 10th grade only for the first year in August of 2027 and up to 12th grade by the fourth year. The
target enrollment is 400 students.
