Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Pocket your credt card if you plan to check bags while traveling on United Airlines. There have been some significant changes that passengers should be aware of. Effective as of Friday, April 3rd, United Airlines is raising checked baggage fees for customers flying in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Latin America. New fees for checked luggage, paid within 24 hours of travel are: First bag: is $50, Second bag: is $60 and the third bag will cost you $200. Travelers can still save money by pre-paying for checked bags. If doing so, the cost for the first two checked bags is $45 and $55, respectively. The airline declined to provide a specific reason for the increases. The price changes do not impact travelers who purchased tickets before April 2nd.
