ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The Albuquerque International Sunport will soon offer travelers a new way to get through airport security if they arrive without an approved form of identification.
Starting February 1, the Sunport will begin accepting ConfirmID, an identity‑verification option for passengers who don’t have a Real ID or other TSA‑approved ID at the checkpoint. Real ID cards are marked with a star and are required for standard security screening.
Under the new program, travelers can verify their identity by completing online paperwork and paying a $45 fee before proceeding through TSA. Airport officials say the system provides an additional pathway for passengers who may otherwise be unable to board their flights.
The Sunport says the rollout is intended to help reduce disruptions for travelers who realize too late they’re missing proper identification.
More information is expected to be available as the launch date approaches.
