ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Albuquerque Police are investigating a shooting that left one person critically injured in Northeast Albuquerque.
Officers responded around noon to the area of Vermont Street and Central Avenue NE after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where she is reported to be in life-threatening condition.
Police have not released additional details about what led up to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified.
Officers remain at the scene as they continue to gather evidence and work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
