Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An Albuquerque nonprofit is announcing a series of summer events to support veterans and rescue dogs. Paws and Stripes says the events are part of Military Appreciation Month and will raise awareness for its programs that pair veterans with shelter dogs. The lineup includes a community event at Winrock Town Center in June, a golf tournament later that month, and a gala at Sandia Resort and Casino in August. The organization says its work focuses on helping veterans transition to civilian life while finding homes for rescue animals.
