Albuquerque, New Mexico – Albuquerque Police are investigating a series of deadly crashes that occurred over a two-day period across the city.
The incidents began Tuesday night, when a woman riding an e-scooter was killed in a parking lot crash along Montgomery Boulevard. Police say the scooter rider collided with a vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Early Wednesday, a pedestrian was struck while crossing Lomas Boulevard near Juan Tabo. Investigators say the man was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk when he was hit by an eastbound pickup truck. He later died at the hospital.
Later that day, around midday, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision at Menaul Boulevard and Richmond Drive Northeast. Police say a vehicle crossing Menaul struck the motorcycle. Investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor in that crash.
That same evening, another motorcyclist died on the West Side near Westside Boulevard and 7 Bar Loop Road. According to police, the rider lost control, crossed multiple lanes, struck a curb, and crashed into a retaining wall. Witnesses told investigators the rider may have been traveling at a high rate of speed and did not stop at a nearby stop sign.
Police say no other vehicles were involved in that crash.
All four incidents remain under active investigation as officials work to determine the exact circumstances and contributing factors in each case.
