ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The Albuquerque Isotopes have announced Chrissy Baines as their new general manager, marking a historic milestone. Baines becomes the first female GM in Albuquerque professional baseball history and one of just 15 active female general managers in Minor League Baseball.
Baines has been with the Isotopes since 2004, most recently serving as assistant GM of baseball operations. She succeeds John Traub, who led the team for nearly two decades and will now serve as team president and advisor. Under Traub’s leadership, the Isotopes ranked among the top teams in attendance and hosted major events, including the Triple-A All-Star Game.
The Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, began play in 2003 after relocating from Calgary. Known for their fan-friendly atmosphere and creative promotions, the team consistently ranks among Minor League Baseball’s attendance leaders and has become a staple of Albuquerque’s sports culture.
Baines’ promotion continues the team’s tradition of strong leadership as they prepare for the upcoming season.
