ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — As temperatures begin to drop across New Mexico, PNM is encouraging customers to take advantage of its free Home Energy Checkup program, which provides personalized recommendations aimed at improving home energy efficiency and reducing utility costs.
The program offers customers the option of either an in-home or virtual appointment with a PNM Energy Ambassador. During the assessment, the ambassador evaluates how a home uses energy and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining comfort.
Following the evaluation, participants receive a customized energy report with recommendations tailored to their household’s energy use.
Customers who complete a Home Energy Checkup may also receive more than $100 worth of energy-saving products, depending on their home’s needs. Available items can include:
- LED light bulbs
- Advanced power strips
- Efficient-flow showerheads
- Weather stripping
- Faucet aerators
According to PNM, the program can also help homeowners identify rebates and incentives available for qualifying energy-efficiency upgrades, including heating and cooling system improvements and other home energy projects.
The utility says the initiative is designed to help customers better understand their energy usage and take advantage of available resources to improve efficiency.
Customers interested in scheduling a free Home Energy Checkup can find additional information through PNM’s website.
