ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Touro Dental Health is honoring veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families through its annual Smiles for Veterans initiative, providing complimentary dental services throughout the month of November.
The program offers free dental exams, X-rays, and preventive cleanings to eligible veterans, service members, and their family members as part of the school’s ongoing effort to expand access to dental care in New Mexico.
In addition to the free services, Touro Dental Health will host a special luncheon on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, recognizing New Mexico veterans and thanking them for their military service.
Officials say the program is designed to both honor veterans and help address barriers to routine dental care.
The initiative follows the dental school’s recent community outreach effort that provided complimentary dental cleanings for children during the Halloween season.
Organizers say the Smiles for Veterans program offers another opportunity to connect underserved members of the community with preventive dental care and oral health resources.
The annual program is part of Touro Dental Health’s broader commitment to providing community-based services while giving students practical experience working with patients.
