Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad has reported that flooding reached its Chama Depot and rail yard, which sit outside the current mandatory evacuation zones in Chama. Social media has posted images regarding flood damage near the approach to the Chama River Bridge. Those photos circulating online show the ground beneath the tracks completely washed away. The railroad has said its team will assess railroad facilities and infrastructure to determine the extent of any damage once the waters recede and conditions are safe. There are no immediate impacts to scheduled train excursions because its 2026 regular operating season has concluded.
