RIO RANCHO, N.M. — The New Mexico Goatheads reached a major milestone Wednesday night, securing the first home victory in franchise history at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
The win marks a significant moment for the expansion hockey club as it continues its inaugural season and builds momentum in front of its home fans.
After celebrating the historic victory, the Goatheads will have little time to savor the moment. The team returns to the ice Friday night for another home game, this time against the Allen Americans.
The matchup gives New Mexico an opportunity to build on its breakthrough performance and continue gaining traction during the early part of the season.
The game is scheduled to be played at the Rio Rancho Events Center, where the Goatheads will look to make back-to-back home victories part of the franchise record book.
