Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Democratic gubernatorial nominee Deb Haaland was joined by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren in Albuquerque Monday for a campaign stop focused on New Mexico’s universal childcare program. The two toured Corazoncitos Felices Academy, highlighting the state’s taxpayer-funded childcare system and discussing ways to expand access for families. Haaland says her plan would streamline enrollment, reduce barriers for providers, and increase pay for childcare workers. The childcare program has become a key issue in the governor’s race, with Republican nominee Gregg Hull proposing changes to eligibility and cost-sharing requirements for some families.
