Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The trial for a man who stabbed a hotel guest in December of 2025 was halted this week. Lorenzo Valdez stopped the trial proceedings and pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and aggravated burglary according to Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman. Valdez knocked on the door of a hotel room at the Roadway Inn on Albuquerque’s west side and told the hotel guest he was a hotel employee. When the guest opened the door, Valdez stabbed him multiple times leaving the victim injured. Valdez faces up to 12 years in prison.
