Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – New Mexico State Police are providing an update regarding the disappearance and death of a woman who was kidnapped during a carjacking in Rio Arriba County.
On July 13, human remains were discovered near the Cordova Transfer Station. On Friday, the Office of the Medical Investigator positively identified the body as Jeanette Salazar. The official cause of death is still pending.
Her death is related to an incident that happened days earlier on July 9 when a man called police saying he had been shot during a carjacking and that his girlfriend, Jeanette Salazar, was still inside the vehicle when it was taken.
That same day, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau arrested Danny Trujillo and Marcos Romero, both charged with multiple felonies.
The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau continues to actively investigate this case.
